- International Journal for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning. This open, peer-reviewed, electronic journal is published twice a year.
- International Journal of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. This peer-reviewed publication provides broad coverage of higher education pedagogy and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) across diverse content areas, educational institutions, and levels of instructional expertise.
- Journal of Applied Learning and Teaching. This is an open-access, online, peer-reviewed journal that publishes academic articles and reviews. There is no charge for publishing in this journal.
- Journal of Applied Learning in Higher Education. This peer-reviewed journal publishes work that was presented at the annual Conference on Applied Learning in Higher Education.
- Journal of Excellence in College Teaching is an online peer-reviewed journal published by and for faculty at universities and two- and four-year colleges to increase student learning through effective teaching, interest in and enthusiasm for the profession of teaching, and communication among faculty about their classroom experiences.
- Journal of Experiential Education. an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing refereed articles on experiential education in diverse contexts. The JEE provides a forum for the empirical and theoretical study of issues concerning experiential learning, program management and policies, educational, developmental, and health outcomes, teaching and facilitation, and research methodology.

Journals for Service Learning
- Advances in Service Learning Research is the annual publication of the IARSLCE. The series contains current research on service-learning in K-12 education, teacher education, and higher education. Along with chapters highlighting the findings of service-learning research studies, the series includes pieces that identify theoretical groundings of service-learning and present methodological approaches for studying service-learning, including teacher action research
- Education and Urban Society–this journal communicates new ideas on educational processes, controversies, research, and policy. It places special emphasis on the relationship between educators and society.

- International Journal of Work-Integrated Learning (IJWIL)/ formerly Asia-Pacific Journal of Cooperative Education publishes peer-reviewed original research and topical issues dealing with Work-Integrated Learning (WIL).
- International Journal for Service Learning in Engineering provides a faculty reviewed venue for submitted academic papers.
- International Undergraduate Journal for Service-learning, Leadership and Social Change is dedicated to providing undergraduate students a venue to discuss their service-learning projects and experiences.

- Journal for Civic Engagement is a twice-yearly, online journal dedicated to service-learning and civic engagement.
- Journal for Community Engagement and Higher Education is an online, refereed journal concerned with exploring community engagement and community-based learning perspective, research, and practice. The journal aims to establish and maintain a review of the literature of research and practice. The Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education is edited and published by the Center for Community Engagement (CCE) at Indiana State University (ISU).
- Journal for Community Engagement and Scholarship–a peer-reviewed international journal through which faculty, staff, students, and community partners disseminate scholarly works. JCES integrates teaching, research, and community engagement in all disciplines, addressing critical problems identified through a community-participatory process.

- National Civic Review–is a quarterly publication that promotes civic engagement, community building, political reform, and democratic governance. The journal’s mission is to inform, inspire and stimulate discussion on ways of strengthening democratic institutions and making them more inclusive, accountable and responsive to citizens.
- Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning & Civic Engagement– Partnerships recognizes that successful engaged learning depends on effective partnerships between students, faculty, community agencies, administrators, disciplines, and more. The articles in this peer-reviewed journal focus on how theories and practices can inform and improve such partnerships, connections, and collaborations. Studies co-authored by faculty, students, and/or community partners; or examining practices across disciplines or campuses; or exploring international networks are all encouraged.
- PRISM: A Journal of Regional Engagement– is devoted to promoting a culture of engagement between the university and region through the creation, application, and integration of knowledge. PRISM is multi-disciplinary, publishing quality, peer-reviewed research articles, case studies and applied research articles, and reflections across the full range of disciplinary perspectives. Similarly, PRISM welcomes all forms of analysis and methodologies.
- Reflections Journal is a peer reviewed journal, provides a forum for scholarship on civic writing, service-learning and public rhetoric.
- Undergraduate Journal of Service-Learning and Community-based Research is a new, refereed, multidisciplinary, online journal that invites undergraduates to pursue their own intellectual projects and join the academic conversation on service-learning and community-based research.
- Urban Education is a bi-monthly journal that focuses on key issues from gender-balanced and racially diverse perspectives. Subjects include: student motivation and teacher practice; school-to-work programs and community economic development; restructuring in large urban schools; health and social services.
Journals for Study Abroad Applied Learning Experiences
- ADFL Bulletin. Published three times a year by the Association of Departments of Foreign Languages, a subsidiary of the Modern Language Association.
- The Advising Quarterly. Published by AMIDEAST for professionals in international education.
- Comparative Education Review. This publication publishes articles that investigate education throughout the world.
- Foreign Language Annals. This is the official journal of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. It is referred and published bimonthly. Preference is given to articles that report educational research or experimentation, that describe innovative and successful practice and methods, and/or that are relevant to the concerns and issues of the profession.
- Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad. The purpose of Frontiers is to publish thought-provoking research articles, insightful essays, and concise book reviews that may provide the profession of study abroad an intellectual charge, document some of the best thinking and innovative programming in the field, create an additional forum for dialogue among colleagues in international education, and ultimately enrich our perspectives and bring greater meaning to our work. - International Educator. Published bimonthly by NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the world's largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education and exchange. The magazine publishes original and provocative essays on new and major issues and trends in the broad field of international education that articulate the views and concerns of international educators, serve as an outlet for creative thought, and impress policymakers and opinion leaders at all levels with the rewards and benefits of effective international exchange programs.
- The Journal of Global Initiatives: Policy, Pedagogy, Perspective. A peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal of intercultural and international policy, pedagogy, and perspective.
- Journal of International Students (JIS). Publishes feature narrative, theoretical, and empirically-based research articles, student reflections, and book reviews relevant to international students and their cross-cultural experiences and understanding in higher education.
- Journal of Studies in International Education. A biannual publication of the Association for Studies in International Education (ASIE) designed to serve as a medium for noteworthy scholarship and provocative thinking about international education.
- The Modern Language Journal. A refereed publication that is dedicated to promoting scholarly exchange among teachers and researchers of all modern foreign languages and English as a second language. This journal publishes documented essays, quantitative and qualitative research studies, response articles, and editorials that challenge paradigms of language learning and teaching.
Journals for Applied Learning Perspectives related to Undergraduate Research
- Perspectives on Undergraduate Research and Mentoring is an open-access, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed online journal supporting the mission of undergraduate research and the programs that strive to provide undergraduate students opportunities to participate in scholarly activities with faculty mentors.
