Applied Learning

SUNY has announced that remote community-based applied learning experiences are no longer required or preferred for the 2021-2022 academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Read the Retraction of Previous Guidance. COVID waivers, Plan B syllabus documentation, and Dept of Health documentation are no longer required. 

Of course, remote collaborations are still valuable and appropriate for some courses some situations! Lessons learned during the pandemic can provide students with experiential learning opportunities as we transition back to in-person learning. 

Please note, despite the SUNY guidance, partners may not be able to host students in-person still due to COVID. Also, if a student has a vaccine exemption, a community partner may not be able to accomodate that student. Reasonable accomodations and alternatives are the goal, but may not always be possible.
